FAQs
Parents should read these FAQs to gain clear, detailed answers about how the programme works, what to expect, how it addresses their child’s unique needs, along with timings and cost. The FAQs tackle common concerns, providing reassurance and practical insights into the transformative journey of recovery. From the beginning….

Q: How can your programme help my child?

A: My unique programme is specifically designed to address the root cause of many chronic health conditions – the chronic stress response. My primary aim is to empower children with the knowledge, strategies and techniques that they need to get well, stay well.
Q: Will you understand what my child is going through?

A: Absolutely. Having experienced chronic fatigue myself, I deeply understand how challenging fatigue-based conditions can be - for both your child and your family. I approach every child with compassion, listening closely to their unique experience. Together, we’ll create a supportive environment where your child feels seen, understood, and reassured.
Q: Will we see progress? Is recovery really possible?

A: Yes, recovery is absolutely possible. While every child’s journey is unique, I focus on setting achievable goals and celebrating progress along the way. My aim is to instil hope, positivity and confidence - not just in your child, but in your entire family. Together, we’ll build a path toward brighter days.
Q: What kind of treatments do you use? Are they safe for my child?

A: I use non-invasive, research-backed proven approaches that focus on promoting your child’s physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. These methods are gentle and specifically adapted for young people, ensuring they won’t cause harm or worsen symptoms. Safety and comfort are always top priorities in my work.
Q: How do I know you’re the right person to help my child with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) or Long COVID?

A: As the only dedicated child specialist in the UK working with complex chronic illnesses, I have extensive experience helping children recover from CFS and many other conditions. Parents often share positive feedback about the transformations they’ve seen in their child’s health and happiness after working with me. I use evidence-based strategies tailored to each child, ensuring their treatment is effective and safe.
Q: What methods do you use in your approach?

A: Young people learn breathing, self-coaching, visualisation, brain rehearsal and other widely used thought management and distraction techniques to create new healthy neural pathways between the brain and body, leading to renewed health and well-being.
Q: What sets your approach apart?

I am not an App, AI, Chat-GPT, a video course or a rookie practitioner! I’m a highly experience therapist and coach blending expertise, compassion, and a personalised approach to equip your child with practical strategies and techniques that address the root cause of chronic illness. Beyond healing, my focus is on empowering your child with lifelong tools and skills they can apply to overcome future obstacles, navigate milestones, and build a foundation for sustained success in all areas of life.
Q: Will the treatment plan be personalised for my child?

A: Yes! Every child is unique, so I create tailored plans that match their specific needs and recovery stage. We’ll work at a pace that respects your child’s energy levels, adapting the plan as they make progress.
Q: How long does it take to see results?

A: Recovery timelines vary based on the severity of symptoms and individual circumstances but you can expect to see improvements in just a few weeks. You'll be surprised!
Q: Does my child need to have a medical diagnosis to take part in the programme?
A: Though a diagnosis can be helpful, it is not essential. During your free consultation I will discuss your child’s illness with you in depth to determine whether I can help.
Q: What role do parents play in the recovery process?
A: Parents are vital partners in the recovery journey. I provide guidance to help you support your child effectively, create a supportive home environment, and reduce unnecessary stressors. Parents of younger children are present in all the sessions.
Q: I feel overwhelmed and unsure how to help my child at home. Can you support me, too?

A: Of course. I provide practical guidance for parents, giving you the tools and strategies to support your child’s recovery day-to-day. I’ll also be here to listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and help you feel more confident and hopeful throughout this process.
Q: How will I know what’s happening during treatment?

A: I’ll explain everything in clear, straightforward terms so you and your child understand the condition and how the treatment works. I’ll also keep you informed at every step, ensuring you’re fully involved and confident in the process.
Q: Can the sessions work with our busy family schedule?

A: Definitely. I offer flexible options and will do my best to fit into your family’s routine. I also provide resources and tools you can use between sessions, making it easier to reinforce progress without adding stress to your day.
Q: Where are your services available?

A: My services are only available online, making the programme widely accessible.
Q: How long does it take to complete the programme?

A: It takes approximately 14 weeks (1 hour per week) to complete both the preparation and training phases, and a minimum of two hours follow-up during which I will continue to support your child as they reintegrate back into normal life. Additional help and support are available at any time.
