A Different Approach to Recovery
Many people with ME/CFS, post-viral fatigue and Long COVID find themselves trapped in a cycle of exhaustion, setbacks and uncertainty.
The harder they try to recover, the more frustrating it can become.
At New Pathways, we take a different approach.
Rather than focusing solely on managing symptoms, the programme helps you understand why recovery may have stalled and introduces practical strategies to help you move forward with greater confidence, freedom and hope.
"I got my spark back"
Steph, post-viral myalgia
"For 18 months after a bout of flu, I was stuck in a cycle of slight improvement followed by relapse — barely able to get from bed to chair, with constant brain fog. Halfway through the course, friends were already telling me I'd got my spark back. I learned how powerful the words we use are — how they shape what we believe is possible. Now I feel free, no longer ruled by fear of relapse."
What People Often Notice
While everyone's recovery is different, clients commonly report:
✓ Less fear of symptoms
✓ Greater trust in their body's responses
✓ Reduced boom-and-bust cycles
✓ Greater confidence returning to activity
✓ Improved enjoyment of everyday life
✓ More hope about the future

Why Choose New Pathways?
I'm Steve Fawdry, Therapist & Health Coach
I know first-hand how confusing and isolating unexplained fatigue can feel — I've experienced it myself. That experience led me to explore the connection between mind and body, and to see that meaningful recovery is possible with the right support.

For almost two decades, I've specialised in helping people living with ME/CFS, chronic fatigue, post-viral fatigue and Long COVID — supporting more than 700 adults and teenagers through a combination of specialist education, coaching and nervous-system regulation techniques.
My role is to help you understand what's happening, guide you through a different approach to recovery, and support you every step of the way as you put it into practice.

"A life reclaimed"
Frances, ME/CFS
"I'd been housebound for 16 years — using a wheelchair, unable to work or care for myself. After several months, I was walking 20–30 minutes a day, travelling, cooking, and returning to everyday life. That was six years ago. Since then I've gone back to full-time work, had two children, and now run 5K three times a week. Steve gave me my life back."
"I feel more in control"
Jackie
"After years of stress, single parenting, and caring for my mum with Alzheimer's, my health collapsed — diagnosed with fibromyalgia, narcolepsy and an overactive thyroid, unable to work, walk far, or think clearly. The course taught me how years of stress and self-neglect had affected my health, and gave me simple tools to calm my mind and body and set boundaries. I feel calmer, stronger, and more in control than I have in years."

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I've already tried other approaches?
Many people come to New Pathways after trying different treatments or therapies without finding the progress they hoped for. The programme offers a different way of understanding recovery and provides practical guidance to help you move forward.
Do I need a diagnosis?
No. Some people have a diagnosis of ME/CFS or Long COVID, while others are living with persistent fatigue without a formal diagnosis. A diagnosis isn't required to benefit from the programme.
Do I have to push through symptoms?
No. The focus isn't on forcing yourself beyond your limits. Instead, you'll learn how to respond differently to symptoms, activity and uncertainty while gradually rebuilding confidence at a pace that's right for you.
